Portrayed as a stout, laughing and bald man with an explicitly exposed pot-belly stomach, this Buddha figure is commonly known as celestial or laughing Buddha. The figure is also known as Pu-Tai or Hotei. It is believed that his manifestation comes particularly from a 100 years old Buddhist Zen monk. It is his jolly smile and protruding stomach that earned him the name — Laughing Buddha.
